(Makaria mazara)

The top is dark blue with 15 bluish stripes from the back to the belly. Bottom pale-silver.

The largest recorded parameters: length - 500 cm, weight - 906 kg. The longest recorded life expectancy is 28 years.

A pelagic oceanic species that lives in waters with a temperature of at least 24 degrees, therefore, the species is characterized by migration from south to north and back. Not found on mainland coasts and islands. Usually found at a depth of up to 40 m. It can form flocks of up to 10 individuals. Adult fish prefer solitary swimming. It feeds on tuna, rays, crustaceans and squid.


In the Seychelles, fishing is good almost all year round. Peak bite from November to February. We recommend going fishing with an overnight stay in the open ocean.


We hold the current national blue marlin record of 326kg!

(Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos)

Dark gray or bronze gray top and white bottom. The lower precaudal fins are black, the caudal fins with a clearly visible black border. The dorsal fin is usually light.

The largest recorded parameters: length - 255 cm (male) and 172 cm (female), weight - 33.7 kg. The recorded life expectancy is 25 years.

It occurs on continental and island shelves, in shallow and reef waters, as well as in the open ocean at depths from 0 to 1000 m (usually no deeper than 300 m). During the day, it forms clusters and is able to be active, although it is predominantly nocturnal. It feeds on reef fish, octopus, squid, crabs, lobsters and rays. May show aggression when pursued by spearfishers. It enters a state of rabies when devouring prey and at this moment can be extremely dangerous to humans.

(Cephalopholis argus)

Dark brown body with numerous small pearl dots. On the back of the body - 5-6 pale stripes. A large lightened area on the chest, along the perimeter may be red-brown. The triangular membranes between the rays of the dorsal fin are golden-orange. The largest recorded length is 60 cm. It prefers depths up to 10 m; it does not occur deeper than 40 m. It feeds on fish, but can also eat crustaceans.
